Name: Bob Stinchcombe
Where you are from in Wales:
Born in Risca I have also lived in Magor, Bishton, Cwmdare and spent
a lot of time in the Gwaun Valley.
Living now: Victoria, B.C., Canada
I attended Larkfield, Chepstow, and Trinity, Carmarthen. I left
for Canada in 1957 and after a year on the prairies moved to BC and
eventually wound up in Victoria. I am enjoying a well-earned retirement
with my wife, grandchildren, etc., in our lovely city.
What you miss about Wales.. Emigrating is a little like leaving
the theatre after the first act - some of us are curious to know how
everything ended! Trouble is that too many of the old rugby team are
permanently located under the flowers and can't tell me . There, there,
boys, I told you should only use Ansells as a coolant.
I spent a lot of time in rural Wales and it is this Wales that I really
miss. I am happiest when I return and can walk the Wales and fields.
It bit disappointing in 2001 because of the foot and mouth.
