originally
from Brynaman, situated at the foot of the Black Mountains.
Six years ago, my family and I moved to Calgary, Alberta Canada.
I am the Social Secretary for the Calgary Welsh Society. The
society was established in 1906 and has between 75 and 100 members.
We meet throughout the year to celebrate various Welsh cultural and
social events. One of our favourite events is the St. David's Day Banquet
and concert.
What I miss most about Wales is my family and friends. I also
miss the country side, the sea side and most of all spring flowers.
I miss the wonderful Welsh personalities and the typical British sense
of humour.
I definitely don't miss the wind, the rain, the price of petrol, and
rude customer service people in many retail outlets.
